Brief history of Alexis Strum's career: signed first as a songwriter by Mike Sault at Warner/ Chappell, then as an artist to Mike's WEA imprint. Just as the artist career started to look like a case of 'wrong place wrong time', her writing career took off with cuts from Kylie and many others. But don't write her off as an artist - she has an album's worth of stripped down bedroom demos that position her somewhere between Joni Mitchell's Blue and Carole King's Tapestry. Bad Haircut shows she can do that and write a hit melody at the same time.
