On the strength of this single and the follow-up, the massive Free, Estelle is about to eclipse her many female MC contemporaries. She could just be the British Lauryn Hill which would be very welcome right now. Well done to the many style/female/broadsheet journalists who supported her before she had a record deal, as did Jo Whiley. 1980 was produced by American team One-Up and it's deliciously reminscent of one of our all-time favourite rap records, All That I Got Is You by Ghostface Killah.Contact
