ROTD featured date: Friday 20 December 2024

We say

This year’s RotD Record of the Year accolade goes to Myles Smith. The brilliant singer-songwriter has had a remarkable 2024, which saw him clock up over half a billion streams for his single ‘Stargazing’, sell out shows across the UK, Europe and North America and be named as the BRITs Rising Star. Hugely inspired by a broad range of music he listened to while growing up in Luton, including artists like Green Day, Ben Howard, Labrinth and UK rap, Myles began his journey by picking up an acoustic guitar and singing at open mic nights. Since then, his trajectory has been meteoric with a string of original releases, including this gorgeous tune, which we featured back in February, shortly after he signed for RCA. The track has since amassed over 145m streams on Spotify alone, received massive support across DSPs and helped him garner and build an ever-increasing loyal fanbase. With its heartfelt lyrics, acoustic melody hooks and sing-a-long moments, ‘Solo’ is one of the many tracks which show why he is an artist to have a big future. Congratulations to Myles Smith, RCA, along with Eric Parker, Paul Jeboda & Robyn Carter at Extended Play Music Group, and the extended team - here’s to a massive 2025 for you all.
