WE SAY
We’ve been taken in by the dulcet tones of New York City-based, German singer-songwriter Yvonne Ambrée on her latest release, the electronic-pop gem ‘Thieves’. Channelling her inner Beth Gibbons from Portishead, Yvonne sings about thoughts that “stay with you through the night”. Backed by haunting after-dark percussion and soft, soulful electronics with rich instrumentation, ‘Thieves’ is a gorgeous affair perfect for late-night and chilled playlists at DSPs and spins at specialist shows at Radio 1, 2 and 6 Music. The single was released last week and is the first track from her forthcoming album, co-produced with Jeremy Page (MF Doom, Kendra Morris). Watch the video here. Early tastemaker praise has come from Atwood and Noctis for the single, while previous releases have been featured on NPR, Metal Mag, Tome, Spotify and 6Music, to name just a few. Her song's evocative and soulful ambition bodes well for the new album.
