Safe and Sound
Yoke Lore
WE SAY
Premiered by Clash last week, this rousing piano and electronic number is the second single to be taken from New York-based indie-pop project Yoke Lore’s forthcoming Meditations EP. For those of you who don’t know, Yoke Lore is the solo musical venture of Walk The Moon’s Adrian Galvin who for the past three years has been non-stop touring his new music, supporting acts like Bastille, LP, Frenship and The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, as well as amassing over 75m Spotify streams. With its comforting blend of warm piano melodies and lulling harmonies, Safe and Sound is a gorgeously stirring listen and one that we can see being easily synced up to an American/Netflix TV series in the future. It has already tugged at the heartstrings of online tastemakers such as Earmilk, Born Music and Sodwee among others, and last week it had its first radio play on Radio X (Maz Tappuni). Further tastemaker support has come from Spotify, The Fader, Indie Shuffle, DIY Mag, The Line of Best Fit, and Euphoria Magazine. Next month, he will be playing at Bushstock Festival (15 June) and Camden Assembly (18 June) in London as part of his UK tour. Alluring, emotive and, quite simply, spellbinding indie-pop full of heart.
