WE SAY
It’s been over two and half years since we featured the soaring melodies and three-part harmonies of Tulsa trio Wilderado on their confident stadium rock’n’roll single ‘Head Right’. Since then, the band have released their self-titled debut album, amassed over 100m combined streams and received tastemaker support from the likes of Spotify, Apple Music and more. ‘In Between’ is the band’s first new music of 2023 and was written during recording sessions for their upcoming second album. Having recorded the single with producer James McAlister, who works closely with The National, the band thought the warm, folk-tinged guitars and production would suit Matt Berninger’s vocals and asked James if he could send it to him. He did, and Matt said yes, giving us this serene and beautiful version. Watch the video here, directed by British creative director Edd Carr. Wilderado have recently finished a fall US tour, and the band plans to come back to tour the UK next year.
