WE SAY

The excellent debut single Airbrush from We Are Z was a featured Record Of The Week here in mid-November and the band starts 2015 very strongly with this fine follow-up track. It’s powered again by an insidious bassline and with some tasty musical back references to acts like The Cure and XTC from that joyously vibrant post-punk era of the early 1980s. Haling from London and Paris, the five-piece have been picking up strong support both in France and here too from the UK music press and tastemaker blogs as they continue to record their debut album, which should be completed in time for the summer festival season. Their next London show comes as part of the monthly event Mark Beaumont Presents at the Monarch, scheduled for March 4 and promises to be another memorable night after picking up rave reviews for their previous gig at the end of November in Tooting. Looks like 2015 is off to a flying start for these chaps.
