We Are Augustines
WE SAY
We Are Augustines are finally getting recognition in the UK with the release of this fantastic track. The Brooklyn band saw their album make the Billboard 100 on iTunes sales alone in the US, it was also in Soundscan's Top 10 new artists in the first week of sales. Radio support in the UK has started strongly with plays from Steve Lamacq, Lauren Laverne, Jo Whiley, Zane Lowe, Dermot O'Leary, Mary Anne Hobbs and Jon Kennedy. Book Of James is playlisted on 6 Music and Xfm, and has been Record of the Week on both Mary Anne Hobbs' show and the Xfm Breakfast Show. The next single after this will be Chapel Song, which after being featured on a Starbucks summer mix in the US, was downloaded 500,000 times. We Are Augustines performed six shows at CMJ last week and are now in the UK touring with Glasvegas. Expect the full album - Rise Ye Sunken Ships - March 5. Video. (Photography by Phil Knott)
