Today’s Ones To Watch 2024 is the talented singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Victoria Canal. Born in Munich, the 25 year Spanish-American artist first caught our attention last year with the beautiful piano-led ode ‘Swan Song’, which received praise from Chris Martin and led to a Later with Jools Holland performance. Since then, she has released two EPs, amassed over 20m streams and 25m+views on streaming platforms and become the winner of the Ivor Novello Rising Star and Attitude Pride Icon awards. This year also saw Victoria support Hozier on tour, head out on a UK and US tour, and next month, Victoria will play a series of shows across Europe. With tastemaker support from the Observer, Sunday Times, NME, Gay Times, Radio 1 (Future Artist) and more, Victoria’s music has gained plaudits for her emotional exploration into themes of grief, self-analysis, body image and body dysmorphia. Her latest EP, ‘WELL, WELL’, sees her further expand on these themes and contains this standout track featuring Grammy winner Madison Cunningham. Watch the video here. It is her shared vulnerability, backed by her gorgeous piano playing, that drew us to her songs, and is why we are tipping her for further success in 2024.
