WE SAY
Deftly combining disco, funk elements and bouncy beats tinged with retro-pop layers are French production/musician duo Tonique & Man (Jean Tonique and Mi Man) in this breezy summer jam. We first introduced you to the duo in February with their undeniably cool tune ‘Running After Time’, which blended feel-good sounds with echoes of the Bee Gees and Daft Punk. This time around, they have upped the tempo, added beautiful choirs along with driving muted guitars to offer an infectious jam tinged with Italo disco, yacht rock and a smidgen of Tame Impala. Watch the video here. With its feel-good groove, the track marks the final single to be released from their album ‘Opening Soon’ due this September. Tastemaker support has come from Craig Charles and Amy Lame at 6 Music, along with praise from Acidstag, C Heads, Magnetic Magazine, METAL, and more. If you are interested in catching the Parisian-based duo live, they will be over in England in September to play Hootannay in Brixton, London, on 30 September.
