Powered by brooding electro beats, shimmering guitars and soaring vocals, Secrets is the debut single from Manchester-based alt-pop duo Tonica. Formed off the back of a mutual love of dark stadium alt-pop, Amory (singer, songwriter, guitarist) and Sam (songwriter, instrumentalist, producer) weave modern pop flourishes into their ’80s synth-inspired sound to create nostalgic yet contemporary soundscapes. Written and produced by the band and mixed by Jeremy Wheatley (Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys, Goldfrapp & Hurts), Secrets recalls elements of Duran Duran for a deliciously dreamy slab of alt-pop perfection. Watch their Matthew Tingle-directed video shot in and around Manchester here. It’s early days, but with their strong visuals, aesthetics and sound, we reckon this duo will find much love for their hook-laden song.
