Burn

Tom Walker

Relentless

WE SAY

Sounding absolutely epic with dynamic production, propulsive rhythm and intense anger, ‘Burn’, the poignant return of RotD-favourite Tom Walker, is the product of an artist with a BRIT Award, two million worldwide album sales and over three billion global streams who very nearly called it quits. Having binned over 130 songs he had written for his second album last year after label criticism over the “mediocre” songs he had put his heart and soul into, Tom, as he puts it, “lost it”. He decided to head out to LA to write with the McDonough brothers, Ryan Daly & Castle (Joji, Khalid, Mimi Webb and John Legend) and this powerful number, fuelled by the months of stress and emotion, is the result, and it’s immense. In the run-up to the release, Tom has teased snippets of the track that has seen him amass over 3m views over socials and 4k comments. On Tuesday, Tom did a surprise performance of the song on the tube with a gospel choir, and later today will hold a pop up show in Manchester and then one in Glasgow tomorrow. With previous support across DSPs and early plays on radio already lined up, expect to see this massive tune across new release playlists and on the radio soon. Bliming brilliant.
