There is a reason Blackpool born rising artist Tom Gregory was chosen as one of our One To Watch 2021. To date, the Blackpool born singer/songwriter has accumulated over 300m streams on his debut album Heaven In A World So Cold, currently has 6m monthly listeners on Spotify and his singles, Fingertips and Never Let Me Down, have been certified Gold and Platinum within Europe. He also has a nomination for NRJ Music Award, a 1Live Krone gong under his belt and was the winner of the Virgin Radio Rising Star Award. With the release of this energetic and uplifting number last Friday, it is clear that Tom has no plans of slowing down in 2021. Created in collaboration with songwriter Jamie Scott in the State of the Ark Studios in London, River featured heavily across DSPs on release with inclusions on Spotify (NMF UK, New in Pop), Apple Music (New Music Daily, New In Pop), Amazon Music (Brand New Music) and Deezer (Brand New UK) playlists. It’s easy to see why too, with its addictive shanty-esq beat, hooky vocal harmonies and its distinct piano motif and percussive elements. River has picked up early traction here in the UK with plays and interviews from BBC Introducing and BBC Radio Lancashire. Deserving of more airplay here at home in the UK, it is the perfect track with its boundless energy and upbeat nature as we welcome the spring/summer months.
