Tim Ten Yen is a funny, casio-caberet oddity whose live shows have gained quite a reputation. It's not just the Gilbert & George-style karaoke element, but the intelligent pop songs delivered with panache that set him apart. A cult figure in the making? We think so. This is his first release, through Brainlove Records Singles Club, with another independent release being finalised for the autumn. Radio plays on Rob Da Bank's R1 show, and a Steve Lamacq interview on his 6Music show have helped spread the word. He is available for everything except management.
