Roll Out
The Wholls
WE SAY
It’s been a joy lately following the progress of The Wholls as the word continues to spread about them, not only as a must-see live act, but one with a host of top songs to unleash on an unsuspecting public. So far we’ve featured the superb X21 twice. Huw Stephens, Annie Mac and Greg James all raved about the song and band after playing it last month, when it appeared on the Radio 1 playlist, and there’s more profile for that track to come, especially with The Great Escape and several UK festivals all about to announce they’re on the bill this summer. Then came Angry Faces, and we heard a different, edgier side to their work. Now comes this fresh cut, which rocks and swaggers in such a fantastic way, it’s almost as if it knows how wonderful it is. Like those cocky young upstarts Kasabian a decade or more ago, these lads are primed and ready to blow every other British guitar band out of the water, not just here at home but on the world stage too. No wonder major labels are falling over themselves to snap them up. The race is on. This tune is yet another absolute triumph.
