Whole Lotta People

The Thurston Revival

unsigned

WE SAY

Vancouver-based The Thurston Revival caught our attention immediately at In The City when he took to the stage dressed in a cloak and sporting his own home-made mic stand. The performance which followed was chaotic, hilarious and sometimes very moving. He knows how to grab the audience’s attention, but there is nothing gimmicky about his incredible bluesy voice, which moves between a whisper and a full-on roar. Similarly, the style and approach of his songs have an admirable range and depth, which suggests there are many more tricks up his sleeve. A wholly original talent. DB
