WE SAY
We last featured hot UK country duo The Shires six months ago with their excellent track Tonight. Ben and Crissie hugely impressed us live at the end of 2014 when we watched them play to an enthusiastic crowd at London’s Bush Hall and we sensed things were building quickly for them, especially when we noticed the instant positive reaction to this future end-of-the-working-week anthem. Now the much-anticipated debut album Brave is finally on the way on March 2 via the newly revived Decca Nashville label (once the home of superstars like Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn). Last week, they played a live session for Radio 2's Chris Evans Breakfast Show, receiving an incredible listener reaction and a leap in pre-orders. See what all the fuss is about when they support US stars Little Big Town at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire on February 10 or at their own headline show at Union Chapel on April 14. No pretension, this is simply a perfect punter-friendly pop gem.
