Beats To Your Rhythm
The Shires
WE SAY
Two years ago, we gushed about UK country duo The Shires. Tonight laid the foundations for the stunning success of Brave, one of just four British debut albums to sell more than 100,000 copies in 2015, as their brilliantly-crafted songs found key tastemaker support and a very welcome home at Radio 2. Their secret? Superb tunes, aimed at the mainstream, but loved by a broad cross section of ages and demographics. Their recent London showcase bore testament to how adoring the fans are. With international interest growing day by day, Ben and Crissie are on course for a massive long-term seller again, and this upbeat first single starts the campaign with a roar. Reminding us in places of The Lumineers anthem Ho Hey, Ken Bruce had the first play last week (July 29), when they also earned the cover photo of Spotify’s New Music Fridays playlist that day in the UK, and were added in the US too. We’ve heard the entire new album My Universe and were bowled over by the confidence of their songwriting, production, delivery and lyrical content. It's great to have you back, folks.
