The Ryes
WE SAY
A five-piece from the South East, The Ryes were runners-up in the O2 Undiscovered contest and won Virgin Radio's 'Face Off' competition 10 weeks in a row. Fresh from touring around the country (including dates at the O2 Wireless festival and a support slot with Ben's Brother) this was one of the first songs they laid down for an album, which is currently being recorded with Jay Reynolds (Just Jack) and will be ready in next year. Given widespread tolerance for XTC/Sparks-influenced bands on the radio at the moment, the timing appears to be right for them. We like this a lot - everything about this points towards something that could stick at radio. JF London gig: December 10, Scala N1 (w/ Ben's Brother)
