Vultures
The Ramona Flowers
WE SAY
Firm favourites with us here, we last featured The Ramona Flowers back in March with their excellent track Tokyo. Both that track and this latest single will feature on their much-anticipated debut album Dismantle and Rebuild next month. Vultures has just been serviced to TV and radio but ITV used it to soundtrack their coverage of the French Open. Expect the band's profile and reputation to grow hugely over the summer months with a bunch of festival appearances lined up including Secret Garden Party, Hop Farm and the main stage at Boardmasters amongst many others. Then UK tour dates with Lamb (Andy Barlow from the band produced the entire album) in the autumn culminate with a London gig at Camden's Roundhouse on November 2. Underpinned with a driving, crunching guitar riff but layered with a superbly melodic vocal and euphoric chorus, dance heads are also catered for with a remix from Sam Tropic (the alter-ego of Zac Samuels who's recently done the business on Kiesza's mighty Hideaway). You'd be a fool to argue against this band finally getting the attention they deserve by the end of this year.
