Out Of Focus
The Ramona Flowers
WE SAY
It’s been nearly 4 years since we featured RotD favourites The Ramona Flowers but the Bristolian five-piece are back today with their gorgeous new single, Out Of Focus. Taken from their forthcoming third album, Strangers, the track is produced by Chris Zane (Bat For Lashes, Friendly Fires, Passion Pit) and sees the band moving in a more synth heavy and ‘80s infused direction. It’s a gorgeously compelling indie offering, awash with flickering synth melodies and hook laden motifs that are one part The Temper Trap and one part Duran Duran. With the right push at radio we can see this being supported on 6 Music, Radio 2 and Radio X, as well as being added to a multitude of contextual and indie playlists at streaming services. Previous single Same Sun was premiered online by British GQ and the band have garnered tastemaker support from the likes of The Line of Best Fit, Clash, Q, Huw Stephens and John Kennedy. They finished a mini UK tour at the end of March and will return to London to play Nambucca on 25 May. Addictive, synth-friendly indie from a band who are full of confidence with their new sound and style.
