Song For Lisa (ft. Lisa Hannigan)

The Japanese Popstars

Virgin

WE SAY

The Japanese Popstars' forthcoming album Controlling Your Allegiance cooks up some fine collaborative efforts - among them this next single with Mercury and Choice Music Prize-nominated Lisa Hannigan and a track with yet another RotD favourite, James Vincent McMorrow. Robert Smith, Jon Spencer (of Blues Explosion) and Tom Smith of Editors also make appearances. In four years together, and a debut album on independent dance label Gung-Ho!, The Japanese Popstars have built their name with an uncompromising brand of hard electronic dance. They're a must-see live act and a much-respected ensemble in the dance world. Tracks like this melancholic house should cross them over to a wider audience. Remixes of Song For Lisa come from Benny Benassi, Tong & Rogers and Arvene & Misk. Their live show is unmissable, as many festival audiences will find out this summer. Video.
