The Heartbreaks
WE SAY
Big, bold and instantly appealing, this second single from The Heartbreaks second album We May Yet Stand A Chance was produced by Dave Eringa, famed for his work with Manic Street Preachers. We featured them last around 18 months ago with the fabulous track Hand On Heart and since then have picked up countless celebrity fans along the way including Morrissey. The band's singer Matthew Whitehouse has been photographed by legendary photographer Mario Testino for a big article in next month's Vogue along with model Cara Delevigne. We love the story that Steve Lamacq is so enamored with the song and passionate about the band, he said he would resign from BBC 6Music if they didn't get added to the station's playlist. Check out the video too - the group throw some cool Motown-esque dance troupe moves similar to the kind of thing The Four Tops and Temptations would thrill us with back in the day. A short UK headline tour starts tonight (May 20) in Sheffield and culminates with a date at London's Oslo on May 30. Throw your windows open wide, fling your arms in the air and prepare to sing your heart out - this is spectacularly soaring pop for retro-loving folk who wrongly think they don't make great songs like this anymore.
