The Gleeman
WE SAY
The Gleeman is a singer-songwriter from Helston in west Cornwall, who over the last year has been building a name for himself with honest, thoughtful and uplifting odes. Influenced by his love of piano men such as Billy Joel and Elton John, he dropped his acoustic guitar-driven debut EP ‘The Gunslinger’ last year, which helped him, along with recent single ‘Summer Town’, garner broad radio support across regional and specialist radio, including BBC Radio Cornwall and London. At press, he has picked up support from Headliner Magazine, Songwriting Magazine, Fatea, Folking and more. Earlier this month (2 June), The Gleeman released this upbeat and sunny track produced by Will Hicks (Ed Sheeran, James Blunt, Elton John) and mixed by Ash Howes. With a nod to Americana in its pacing and harmonies, the track is unashamedly hooky and serves as an inspirational kickstart to be the best version of ourselves. Taken from his forthcoming debut LP ‘Something to Say’, expect to hear this on specialist radio shows on Radio 2 and regional radio soon. Outside of his debut album recordings, The Gleeman has also recorded a cover of Andrew Gold's 'Thank You For Being A Friend', to support Music for Dementia and Thank You Day (2 July).
