American Slang
The Gaslight Anthem
WE SAY
The title track from Th e Gaslight Anthem's third album, American Slang is the follow up to 2008's ' The '59 Sound', an album which was widely acclaimed with Q magazine hailing them as 'masters of blue-collar anthems'. Performances at Glastonbury and support slots to Bruce Springsteen made them a hot live ticket here too. They've stayed with producer Ted Hutt on this record, but as American Slang demonstrates, their sound has lost none of its intensity or bite. A welcome return of a band with stadium-sized ambitions. Live action this summer includes Hard Rock Calling (w/ Pearl Jam) and Reading and Leeds Festivals. This is on XFM's daytime playlist and was 'Hottest Record In The World' on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show. JF London gig: June 26, Brixton Academy SW9
