The Way That I Love You
The 7:45s featuring Martin Connor
WE SAY
Steeped in classic and timeless soul vibes, ‘The Way That I Love You’ is the debut single from Manchester-based soul collective The 7:45s. Formed by songwriter and bassist Sam Flynn, The 7:45s were inspired by the house bands of soul labels like Motown and since their formation last year have been honing their sound ready for this gorgeous offering. Recorded on vintage equipment at EVE Studios and released earlier this month as a double A-side with ‘Too Little Too Late’, the single features the captivating vocals of collaborator Martin Connor. Channelling the essence of Charles Bradley, ‘The Way That I Love You’ received its radio premiere on Craig Charles’s 6 Music show. With its laidback mix of piano, horns, and smooth guitar lines, the song is perfect for soulful playlists at DSPs and deserves spins at specialist shows on Radio 1 and Radio 2. All in all, this is just great music to stir the mind, body and soul.
