From the lush vocal to the infectious, energetic piano-melody and warm production, there is a lot to love about this debut release from 21 year old Paris-born, London-based singer-songwriter Thaïs Ray. Having grown up in a music-loving household, she dreamt about becoming a musician and moving to London from a very young age. However, she decided first to study law, psychology, and cognitive science in the Netherlands before coming to London to pursue her music career in late 2023. Inspired by artists like Birdy, Lake Street Dive and Olivia Dean, Thaïs’s debut, ‘Lights Are Dancing’, offers the perfect introduction to her blend of indie-pop with elements of soul and folk. An ode to her inner child, the track was released last Friday (15 March) and is tailor-made to feature on mellow pop contextual playlists at DSPs and plays on shows at Radio 1, 2, 6 Music and Virgin Radio. She is currently seeking management representation, alongside publishing and support on future releases, so get in touch if interested or check her out performing live at the Notting Hill Arts Club in London this Friday (22 March).
