WE SAY
North London-based duo Temptress are an audiovisual project that we last featured in 2018 with their seductive blend of after-dark R&B tinged-pop and intimate vocals on ‘I Say When’. Since then, the duo have released their debut EP, ‘Body’, in 2021 and will release their forthcoming EP, ‘Pipe Dream’ on 1 May. Along the way, they have caught the attention of radio DJs Jamz Supernova, Jezz Iszatt, Huw Stephens and Phil Taggart, garnered praise from Wonderland, DIY, i-D, Dork, Notion, Complex and Fader, as well as additions on editorial playlists at Spotify and Apple Music. With its ’00s UK garage-inspired beat and lush R&B production providing the backdrop to Jess’s soulful vocals, ‘Heaven Sent’ is the latest single to be taken from their forthcoming EP release. Since its release, the track has been added to Ministry of Sound Chilled & Dance Music Friday, Colors playlists and featured in Neo Music Magazine, Earmilk, The F Word Magazine and more. You can watch their sublime video here, which they created at their production company, Plastic Fruit Studios - where they have also been responsible for visuals for Jazzy, Cat Burns, Celeste, Sekou, Biig Piig and more. A mellifluous R&B-pop earworm.
