With both Bon Iver and Jeremy Zucker acting as early inspirations, BIMM graduate Sam Stevenson, aka SVEN, has been working earnestly on his music since 2018, having started to write music at the age of fifteen. Now ready to showcase his music to the world, the multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and producer dropped this gorgeous debut on Friday (10 July) and instantly made an impact at Spotify UK with additions to their New Music Friday and New Pop playlists. Bursting with ambition, Shoreditch_ is three and a half minutes of pop gold with glacial synths blending seamlessly with soft production, simple guitar melodies and Sam’s silvery vocals. Written about leaving home, (for him, Kildare in Ireland) and pursuing your dreams, Shoreditch_ is a strong statement of intent and one, we reckon, will create a lot of interest for this young artist.
