Flame
Sundara Karma
WE SAY
Almost two years since we first alerted you to Berkshire's Sundara Karma and the excellent Loveblood in February 2015, they absolute smash it out of the park with this. Even then, we marked them out as a bunch of teenagers with a keen ear for melody, all delivered with zest and vitality. This song has so much energy, passion and drive to it, and frontman Oscar's killer vocal, you'll find it hard to resist. Already a fan favourite with 2.5 million Spotify plays to date, it leads them nicely into their debut album, the wonderfully-named Youth Is Only Fun In Retrospect, which will set the benchmark for all other British stars to live up to across the rest of 2017. Radio 1 have been huge supporters right from the start, before they landed this major deal with Sony. Right now, they’re on the BBC Introducing tour of America with Spring King and Izzy Bizu, and return to the UK for dates with Two Door Cinema Club (including Ally Pally on February 9 and 10) before their own headline dates, which take in Shepherd’s Bush Empire on February 24. For now, soak in the glory of this absolutely essential future anthem.
