WE SAY
There's a timeless quality and an astute country songwriting flair showcased on Angel by Sumudu, a British artist of Sri Lankan descent. There's a respectful nod to Eva Cassidy in the vocals on this track - part of the reason why we think Radio 2 will enjoy Sumudu's work. She wrote, performed & arranged her first album Waiting For You; playing most of the instruments herself with production help from Grammy Award-winning producer Kipper (Sting / Mary J Blige). The CD was self-released via her website and will be sold on a UK tour of Caffe Nero venues this month - the chain made her Artist of the Month after spotting her play at The Bedford. Sumudu is available for records and publishing.
