Summer Holiday
WE SAY
Summer Holiday are a three-piece from Halifax but are based in London. The first signing of new label Better Get Records, they drew attention to themselves by spending the summer car-gigging on their generator-powered Ford Escort around London (or "SuperFlyMotorCarGigs" as they term the ad-hoc shows). They have a refreshing sound that splices the best of Blur's sound circa Leisure with a progressive hip-hop influence. They avoid the pratfalls of ‘indie-schmindie’ territory with songs that are interesting and genuinely innovative in their execution. A great start for both band and label. JF
