On Your Own feat. Dolapo

Studio Black

37 Adventures

WE SAY

Last July we introduced you to Studio Black, a collective of producers, singers and artists from the suburbs of south London, whose infectious debut track, Friends Don’t Kiss Friends featuring Emily Burns, has now amassed over 7m streams. Back with their sublime follow-up today (17 April) and once again produced by Nastylgia (Not3s, Nadia Rose), On Your Own sees the collective dive into the R&B pop electronica arena with this absolute gem. Featuring the soulful and emotive vocals of rising R&B singer Dolapo, who’s received huge support from BBC Introducing, 1Xtra and GRM Daily, this sumptuous slice of downtempo R&B is destined to be featured across streaming new release programming this Friday. Plus we wouldn’t be surprised to see this popping up on numerous chilled and slow jam contextual playlists over the coming weeks too. A glorious return for this fast-rising collective who see music as an art form rather than a stylised brand offering.
