Returning in 2024 with this pop earworm is British alt-pop artist and RotD favourite Starling. Having taken a brief hiatus over the pandemic, she released a string of singles last year and has recently worked with several seasoned producers and collaborators in London, Dublin and LA (including Ollie Green, FlashThedeliveryGuy, & Pearse McIntyre) on new material. Written in LA and produced in New York, ‘Cool Girl’’ is taken from her forthcoming new EP and reflects on her evolution as a young woman and artist. With her confident air shining through a blend of vibrant synths, uplifting hooks and pop aesthetics, the track would be perfect for those new pop and empowering mood playlists at DSPs. Previous tastemaker support has come from Radio 1, Spotify, The Guardian, The Line of Best Fit, Clash, Wonderland and more. Later this summer she will embark on a series of ‘home concerts’ for fans in their living rooms, with 21 shows already confirmed and plans to do a total of 30 shows across the UK.
