Taking her inspiration from artists like Kate Bush and Jeff Buckley, Irish-born, Manchester-based singer-songwriter Solis has delivered a hypnotic folk-pop offering in this, her latest release. Pairing buoyant and nostalgic percussion with her classically trained, hypnotic vocal melodies and hazy production, Sunday is a dreamy, harmony-soaked gem that tells a tale of youth and frustration. Early tastemaker support has come from Hotpress, the Line Of Best Fit and GoldenPlec, but we reckon more online coverage will quickly follow. Plus, it’s perfect for those dreamy contextual playlists at streaming too. Having played a range of shows across Manchester supporting the likes of Blossoms, Phoebe Green and Inhaler, she will be playing a headline show in Manchester on 3 December at 33 Oldham Street and is looking for a live agent to help her book shows for 2022. Exquisite folk-pop from an artist determined to make her mark on the scene.
