Here at RotD, we do like our Scandi-pop and this infectious dose of alt-pop from Danish singer Soleima is the latest act to have caught our attention. Taken from her new EP, Bulldog, released earlier this month, the Copenhagen-based artist lusciously blends off-kilter electronics with looped synth melodies and addictive basslines in this joyous pop gem. This is one for dancefloors and parties everywhere and would happily sit next to Tove Lo, Dagny and MØ in any contextual playlist. The track has already garnered online tastemaker praise from Indie Shuffle, Dots and Dashes and Born Music to go alongside previous support from The Line of Best Fit, Paper, HillyDilly, and the 405, as well as radio plays from Phil Taggert (Radio 1) and John Kennedy (Radio X). Having been highlighted by Annie Mac as a New Name after the release of her debut EP, No.14, last year, she won the Talent of the Year at the major Danish award ceremony P3 Guld and was also nominated for the Best Newcomer at the Danish Music Awards. Pure Scandi-pop perfection.
