Perfect Goodbye

Sofie Winterson

Excelsior Recordings

WE SAY

This beautifully hazy and pared back offering is from Amsterdam-based artist Sofie Winterson. Having previously released ‘Sophia Electric’, an album that saw her expand her work as a producer, her new album ‘Southern Skies’ sees her concentrate on growing as a songwriter. Co-produced with Benny Sings in his canal-hugging studio in Amsterdam, the album is a wonderful collection of dream-pop odes tinged with folk and soul undertones. With its leading acoustic guitar melody, layered vocals and warm synth tones, ‘Perfect Goodbye’ is a wishful thinking, slightly sarcastic break-up song, and, for us, the standout track and a worthy listen and introduction to Sofie’s new music.
