Booyah
Showtek feat. We Are Loud & Sonny Wilson
WE SAY
Starting out in techno, Dutch brothers Wouter and Sjoerd Janssen, aka Showtek, have become known for mixing genres from across the dance music spectrum, as well as for collaborations with a host of big names including Tiesto and Hardwell. But their fusion of dancehall, breakbeat and drum 'n' bass on the steamroller that is Booyah, with Sonny Wilson on vocals and We Are Loud on co-production, looks likely to be their biggest hit yet. Huge club reactions over the summer translated into across-the-board specialist support at Radio 1 from Pete Tong via Danny Howard and Annie Nightingale to Zane Lowe, who made it a Hottest Record at the end of July. A brace of playlist additions in the past couple of weeks, including Kiss, 1Xtra and now an INMWT add at Radio 1 have pushed Booyah into the Shazam pre-release Top 20. About as subtle as a soundsystem at the Dorchester (which incidentally appears in the video), expect Booyah to bulldoze its way into the charts.
