WE SAY
Colorless is the super smooth and slick debut single from Swedish newcomer Shaqdi. Based in east London, she originally grew up in a small town in Sweden with her mother, a classically trained pianist, where she learned to play the piano and violin from the age of four before heading to Stockholm to study music. Drawing on influences from the American R&B scene, Shaqdi blends bouncy synths, vibrant percussive beats and soulful vocals tinged with hints of London street vibes in this sublime track. Premiered by Dummy, the track has garnered further online praise from Complex, The Plug Society, and Hilly Dilly among others, as well as radio support from Jamz Supernova at 1Xtra and additions to Spotify’s New Music Friday (IT, NL & TR), The Spring Chill and Young & Free editorial playlists. With a self-titled five-track EP on its way in May, there is plenty more to come from this emerging R&B artist and if you need any more convincing then watch her video directed by Zag Erlat.
