Shake Shake Go
WE SAY
With an impressive tally of more than three million Spotify plays already for this track, anticipation is high for the debut EP from London-based five-piece Shake Shake Go. This deliciously-melodic title song from it evokes images of warm sunny days, with beautifully delivered distinctive vocals from Welsh-born Poppy Jones displaying a fragile and vulnerable quality on record but one that powerfully resonates with live audiences. Last month’s gig at The Slaughtered Lamb in London was packed out and they return to the capital on May 19 for a show at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen. Having supported acts such as James Blunt, Rodrigo y Gabriela and Dan Croll, the word is spreading. They’ve already built up a big fan-base in France, from where three of the guys in the band hail. Graham Norton gave the song its first-ever UK radio play last weekend on Radio 2 and it sounded rather glorious to us in the morning sunshine. Now expect to hear this being synced left, right and centre for the rest of the year.
