WE SAY
Sfven is a Leeds-based self-produced electronic artist who’s picking up his fair share of attention in all the right places. He can already count Radio 1 specialists Annie Mac, Huw Stephens and Jack Saunders among his key tastemaker supporters, all of whom have recently played his music on their shows. Next, expect things to ramp up nicely with this gorgeous track. Released last Friday (13 March), it's stuffed-full of woozy, dreamlike hooks, all with an addictive laid-back vocal winding its way over the top, and a fantastic acoustic melody line that effortlessly drives the whole thing along throughout. It comes from his latest EP Like I Love U, the follow-up to the well-received Flowerbeds, a song that found its way onto the Radio 1 Introducing playlist just a few weeks ago. Sfven himself has described his current work as having a slightly different vibe to that of his previous tracks, and we’re very receptive to this direction of style. Planned live dates will undoubtedly need to be rescheduled, but whilst we're all in self-isolation, here's hoping Sfven’s making more gorgeous songs to follow on from this quality track.
