Rise

Seun Kuti

Because Music

WE SAY

This fantastic track is a triumph of political afrobeat from Seun Kuti. The son of the legendary Fela Kuti, Seun picked up saxophone at just 8, became a backing singer in his fathers band Egypt 80 at just 9, and took over the band at 15, when Fela passed away. Produced by Brian Eno, John Reynolds and Seun himself, current album - From Africa With Fury: Rise - has been met with critical acclaim. This year Seun was MOBO nominated, appeared on 'Later with Jools Holland' and performed at the Royal Festival Hall. He returns to the UK to play two shows in November. The first being The Kazimer in Liverpool (November 3) and the second at Koko, London (November 4). Video.
