Sea Glass & Sky Adler
WE SAY
Last year, we featured Sea Glass, the project of Brooklyn-based producer Jake Muskat, and his off-kilter indie gem ‘New Romans (ft. Blur Canopy)’. Since then, he has released a string of singles, gaining plaudits from the likes of Indie Shuffle, Wonderland, The Wild Honey Pie and more. Released earlier this week, ‘Weekend’ was originally conceived as a simple slacker pop song but after meeting Sky Adler at an artist residency at the Silver Sun Foundation in Woodstock, Sky pushed the duo to make it feel bigger. The result is this lively indie slacker tune tinged with ’90s nostalgia but also something of now. The track is perfect for specialist spins at Radio 1 and 6 Music, alongside additions to alternative and indie playlists at DSPs.
