Scarlette Fever
WE SAY
After spending most of the year in the studio working on new music with co-producer Paul Simm, (who co-wrote six songs on the recent excellent album by Neneh Cherry), singer-songwriter Scarlette Fever looks set to consolidate on her success to date with this instantly appealing track from her forthcoming EP, all about falling totally in love. She's supported Caro Emerald, Lisa Stansfield, Mike & The Mechanics and Roachford over the past couple of years, seen one of her songs Crash & Burn synched by VH1 in the US, had a couple of her tracks playlisted at BBC Radio 2 and played sold-out London shows this summer at Islington's O2 Academy2 and the Borderline. Also recently, her music reached another new audience when a bunch of remixes for her track P.S I Hate You reached No.2 on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Play chart. All in all, she's a busy lass, headlining Greenstock, an armed forces fundraiser for injured service personnel on August 30 then returning to the capital to play Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen on September 9. Vocally, you'll hear assured, controlled, soulful delivery with a fine pop sensibility that reminds us a lot of the great Sharleen Spiteri from Texas. Oh, and trust us, the feel-good chorus will lodge its way into your head and stay there after just a couple of plays. Watch out - this fever is contagious.
