Campfire
Satellite Stories
WE SAY
It might be the long nights, but from Lordi to Him to The Rasmus, Finland's contribution to the popular music canon has always tended towards the darker end of the sonic spectrum. Enter Oulu-based four-piece Satellite Stories then, proving that enduring winters and a subarctic climate are no barrier to the flowering of sunny indie pop. With a nod to Two Door Cinema Club, Campfire is a catchy ode to adolescent stirrings, the first single to be taken from the band's forthcoming second album Pine Trails. With 'synch' written all over it, Campfire has already topped the Hype Machine, picking up press and blog love from The Fly, Clash, NME, Best Fit and Q magazine. Known for their energetic live show - they have impressed at festivals all over Europe this summer - Satellite Stories arrive in London tonight for Ja Ja Ja at The Lexington, ahead of a full UK tour next February.
London gigs: The Lexington, tonight (September 26) / Old Blue Last, February 11
