Sarah Walk is a 25-year old singer-songwriter from Minneapolis, who graduated from the esteemed Berklee College of Music and has spent the last 18 months divided between LA and London, crafting the songs that will form her forthcoming album. She’s been working with Steve Brown, the man who shaped Rumer’s glorious Seasons of My Soul and Laura Mvula’s Sing To The Moon debut offerings. And we’re already utterly entranced by her sound. During the spring, she showcased her work for the first time in public to rave reviews supporting Mvula, plus at the Dot-To-Dot Festival. You’ll hear why she received plaudits-a-plenty (including a recent featured in the Sunday Times Culture section) when you listen to this for the very first time. Telling the tale of a girl who broke her heart, it’s an exquisitely layered arrangement as passion builds, first in a controlled way, until her inner fire pours out with every new line. With her much-anticipated debut UK headline show is tomorrow (July 19) at The Lexington in London, this song is a truly exceptional, spellbinding introduction to her work.
