After featuring salute as our very first RotD for 2017 with the excellent One More Chance, we pointed you towards his Eurosonic showcase and suggested it was going to be one hell of a party. Well, you should expect more word-of-mouth buzz at The Great Escape, thanks to this latest sublime track which features teenager Liv Dawson, who’s signed to Disclosure’s record label Method. It recently debuted on Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist in a dozen countries including the UK, Germany and Australia, and has topped over 415,000 plays to date. Radio 1 and 1Xtra support has already started from Mistajam and Huw Stephens, and it deserves to expand further. Originally from Austria but now UK-based, salute's TGE show at The Green Door Store just after midnight Saturday-into-Sunday-morning will see him perform tracks from last year’s My Heart mini-album as well as preview what’s up his sleeve next for his January 2018 LP. This sweet taster is an addictive slice of sun-soaked pop from that start that truly bursts into life when the chorus kicks in. It's unbridled joy, pure and simple.
