Belong Here
Ruby Duff
WE SAY
We are excited to once again feature artist, surfer, skater and alt-pop queen in the making, Ruby Duff. Back in the summer of 2021, we introduced you to her with ‘Party’ - a deliciously unique blend of sultry dark-pop with vibrant, sugary splashes of pop. The playful and, at times, experimental track saw the Yorkshire-born artist draw support from Spotify, Apple Music, Notion, The Line of Best Fit and more. Since going totally independent in the last year, Ruby has received two sync placements, Radio 1 playlisting, and brand sponsorship from Quiksilver, DC shoes and Santa Cruz. Plus, she was the first artist to perform on TikTok’s Spotlight live show and had a successful run of sold-out headline shows, including Groove in New York and a residency at The Victoria Dalston in London. Released today, ‘Belong Here’ is her brilliant, uplifting single, full of heartfelt euphoria, driven by a sumptuous piano melody, warm synths, and joyful trumpets, all meshed together with a fine off-kilter weave of gorgeous alt-pop. Watch the accompanying video here. Featuring on new release programming at Spotify, expect to see this feature on alt-pop and pop playlists over the coming weeks, and it wouldn’t surprise us if this is given a spin or two at Radio 1 and 6 Music. Next month, she will be playing The Victoria Dalston on 6 July before releasing her next single ‘Mundane World’ on 21 July, and then her debut EP ‘I Guess We Belong Here’ in August, which features tracks written with NEIKED and Rob Davis. All in all, just brilliant.
