Come On Over
Royal Blood
WE SAY
Impressive on this week's Later With Jools on BBC2, Royal Blood are back on the Friday night edition of the show this evening with two more tracks, including this killer single. Released immediately after being played as the Hottest Record In The World on Radio 1 by Huw Stephens (sitting in for Zane Lowe), the Alan Moulder-produced cut started flying straight up the iTunes Top 50 chart. It proves that key bits of promotion at just the right time can still work wonders if you strike the right chord with music fans. There's also been a resurgence of interest in their superb previous single Little Monster too. It's all been a bit of whirlwind few months for the Brighton-based duo, comprising Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher, who were rightly courted by just about every key label in town, finally landing with Miles Leonard and his team. You and I will catch them at either Download, Glastonbury, T In The Park, Leeds and Reading festivals this summer or possibly even as one of the main support acts to Arctic Monkeys at London's Finsbury Park on May 23 and 24. All that sets the scene for an immense debut album, due around August time. Dirty, ferocious and instantly addictive - isn't this what all great rock music should be about?
