WE SAY
Sounding like a rather beautiful amalgam of The xx and MGMT, blended with some dreamy Danish vocals, this song is the title track to a five-track EP from Copenhagen-based musician Jeppe Kiel Revsbech, better known on stage as Rosenthal. Already a favourite with several tastemaker online blogs and the team at Amazing Radio, we’re very much reminded of that post-Smiths sound that permeated from every self-respected student bedroom back in the late 80s and early 90s. Lashings of echo, jangly guitars and that unmistakable bass sound high in the mix. It’s a sound that’s being discovered once more, this time to a whole new audience as well as legions who’re old enough to remember how joyful it was first time around. Live dates in several UK cities are lined up for the middle of next month, including a London gig supporting Savage Nomads at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen on February 17. Turn this up loud with your eyes closed and soak it all in. Just gorgeous.
